New Government Rules Will Force Landlords To Negotiate With Tenants

This week (27 April) our Managing Director, Anthony Lorenz, spoke to Bisnow on new government legislation that prohibits commercial Landlords from using the courts force Tenants to pay rent for the next 90 days. 

Anthony believes that litigation is not the answer and that rent deferrals are just 'kicking the can down the road' resulting in liquidations happening in 2021 rather than 2020.  The best course of action is for Landlords and Tenants to have informal discussions on the restructuring of leases.  The Lorenz Consultancy is currently helping over 100 Tenants, particularly in London hospitality, leisure and retail, with their negotiations.
